quantum of physics

If you were hoping this was post about about the physical science behind the stunts performed in the new James Bond film, you've been mislead. This is actually a flash animation explaining string theory in a very simple yet entertaining way. Reminds me of the guide from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Very minimal and very efficient.

Unlike most of my other posts, this isn't a print ad, design website, or something to do with Ferraris. It's a sound clip, demonstrating the awesome power of stereophonics. However, you need to use headphones for it to work. So if you have a minute to spare, close your eyes and have a listen... it's totally worth it.

What is a wedding? Webster's dictionary defines a wedding as the process of removing weeds from one's garden. You heard it... on October 4th, I married my girlfriend of 6 years, Kyley Hellhake! The wedding went off without a hitch (despite the flower girl being a horse) and the honeymoon in Nicaragua was awesome. If you weren't there, please feel free to experience it vicariously through awesome photos.

enchanted africa

These truly stunning photographs we taken by a photographer named Nick Brandt. By far some of the coolest wild life photography I've ever seen. He says part of his secret is getting incredibly close to the animals, and avoiding the use of telephoto lenses.

World Champions! The Phils have finally done it. It took them 28 years, but they did it. What an amazing year it's been, and what a time to be alive. I missed out on the Phillies first World Series victory by about 4 years. But rest assured, I'll never forget this one. GO PHILLIES!

BMW has just installed the ultimate online M experience. And in typical M fashion, it is nothing short of spectacular. Check out the history, heritage, and technology that make the BMW M (the M3 to be specific) one of the greatest cars ever made.

requiem for a day off

This is an awesome trailer mash-up of Ferris Bueller's Day Off put to the soundtrack of Requiem For A Dream. I had a strong urge to go watch both of these movies after seeing the video. Requiem audio was also used for a Toy Story 2 trailer mash-up some time ago...very well done.

dry clean only

Introducing the BMW GINA Concept. This car is like no other. Although at first glance it appears to be your everyday, totally rad, sports car of the future, there is one small difference. The outer shell of the car is made entirely out of fabric! Be sure to check out the video to see it in action.

tennis for two

Behold, the original PONG game! Not actually PONG, but a game that predates it by 14 years. The game was called Tennis for Two, and despite the fact that it came much earlier that its more famous counterpart, TFT looks to be more dynamic and more fun!

Anyone who has spent countless hours in Adobe Illustrator will surely appreciate this work of art. Chad Pugh has created a time-lapse video of his computer screen as he tediously designed his beautiful masterpiece over a period of several months. I am suddenly inspired to create my own original AI creation, but where to find the time.

poster sale

I just put my Adidas Teamgeist posters up for sale on etsy.com! Etsy is a great online marketplace in which artists, craftsmen, and pretty much anyone else can buy and sell handmade items. There is some really cool stuff on there, and it's a great place to find unique gift ideas.

get physical

All of my favorite flash games seem to involve physics in one way or another. Magic Pen is no different. It is based on a more in depth game called Crayon Physics, which has been around for some time, but is PC only (Booooo!). A Crayon Physics Deluxe is in the works, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Mac version.

first timer

Well, this is my very first entry on my very first blog... and I have absolutely no clue what to say. Hopefully this won't be a precursor of what is to come (or not to come) on this page. I plan to keep this thing pretty open-ended. I foresee the entries coming few and far between and pertaining to the subject of design, soccer, movies, music, and anything else that piques my interest.

On another note, I hope everyone likes the new site. It's finally up and running (obviously) and I have to say I like this one. It's nothing to write home about, but I feel it was a much needed change from the relentless, blinding, yellow sun that was my old site. Hopefully you'll be able to walk way from this one with your corneas intact. You can thank me by shooting an email over with some feedback. I'd love to here from you!
